Portrait Wins Best in Class in Alberta Competition
Shelley Vandervelde of The Art Portraiture submitted three images that were accepted into the Professional Photographers of Canada Alberta Image Salon. The press release at the bottom tells you what that means. "Bathtime", created during a Storybook session "The Ole Barnyard", was nominated Best in Class for Child Portrait.
"Center of Attention", created at a wedding in Jamaica, was transformed into a painting, printed and framed to display over the Mother of the Bride's fireplace. It was nominated Best in Class for Wedding Group Portrait.
"Newly Widowed", created after the loss of this man's wife, was nominated and received Best in Class for Portrait and a Judge's Choice Award.
I would like to thank each and every person who has trusted their image and their family's legacy to me. Most portraits are created during times of transition such as:
-
graduations
-
new relationships
-
weddings
-
the birth of babies
-
new careers
-
the completion of families
-
becoming single (divorced or widowed)
-
retirement
-
the celebration of generations
