The Art of Portraiture offers different Storybook Themes throughout the year. These are limited edition sessions available to just ten families per year.
The Enchanted Forest Children's Storybook Fairy Portraits
Once a year, Shelley sets up The Enchanted Forest in her home-based premiere studio. Your child(ren)'s face(s) light up as they enter the set filled with animals, birds, flowers, butterflies & a beautiful pond. Fairy dresses, wings, & flower wreaths are available for 18 months and older in a variety of colours. The crystal ball, the magic wand and firefly lantern all add to the wonder.
Remember those precious years when your girl(s) are as magical as their imaginations. Your visitors will be amazed when they realize the art on your wall is of your child(ren).

Down by the Pond Children's Storybook Portraits
Yes, the boys enjoy dress up just as much as the girls for these fishing portraits! In the Huckleberry Finn style with rolled-up overalls and a stick with a string your children will go fishing with their basket and net. This is like walking onto a movie set filled with plants, animals, birds, frogs, and turtles.
Wall Art portraits and heirloom storybooks will bring back the memories of your precious little ones as they grow and become adults with families of their own. Imagine them reading their storybook to their children and saying "That was me, when I was about your age".

The Ancient Castle Children's Storybook Portraits
We have amazing outfits for your little princess(es) and/or Knight(s) at our premiere portrait studio in Calgary, Alberta. Let's re-enact a fairytale and create magical wall art or heirloom storybooks. These portraits will be treasured more over the years as your little one(s) grow up and have families of their own.
They will be guided through a unique experience filled with fun while we create stunning, heirloom portraits for your home and storybooks your children will ask you to read to them again and again.
The Ole Barnyard Children's Storybook Portraits
The Ole Barnyard is filled with farm animals to feed and play with. Chores to do and a chance to ride a horse. Overalls and shirts available. Bring your stampede boots and cowboy hats! If you grew up on a farm this is a great session to help your children learn more about the days of old.
Winter Wonderland Children's Storybook Portraits
If your family loves winter and snow this is the set for you. The kid(s) can build a snowman, have a snowball fight, get a tree for Christmas, go sledding, and send their letter(s) off to Santa. Imagine the wall art or storybook with this magical theme.
The Night Before Christmas Children's Storybook Portraits
Santa visits his Calgary workshop in September 2023. He invites a very limited number of children to have milk and cookies with him. A magical session that your child(ren) nor you will ever forget! Make sure you book your session or get on the waitlist for next year!

The Night Before Christmas Session
Annika had a magical time with Santa! An hour-long session where she ate milk and cookies with Santa, painted toys, read the bible, found Santa’s home on the globe, had magic sprinkled into her hands and so much more. I was worried she would be afraid but Santa was so gentle and kind that she laughed, smiled, and engaged with him the entire session! It was a special memory that I will cherish always

Enchanted Forest
We had an amazing experience at the Enchanted Forest. From the beginning when Shelley opened the door dressed as a fairy. She was so good at explaining to the kids what they should do in a playful way and the assistant helped to keep the kids happy! We were so happy when we left.
We just saw the presentation of all the pictures, and I was in tears because they are all so beautiful and magical. Shelley is doing a great job. It is so obvious that it really is a passion from the heart, not just a job.

Winter Wonderland
Who would have thought, another amazing session & another tough decision to make. The winter wonderland was so much fun & the photos turned out amazing! I came in for one image & will likely be leaving with a collection. I just love bringing Jax in for the Storybook Sessions and being awed by how the images turn out. I can't wait to see them after touch-ups and editing to send to our family in the Christmas Cards. I enjoy these sessions & everyone who gets photos with Shelley loves their end results. I am so happy we did this session while Jax is still young and small.
