The Art of Portraiture offers different Storybook Themes throughout the year. These are limited edition sessions available to just ten families per year.

Down by the Pond

Have fine art wall portraits and a storybook created featuring your children! Imagine them reading the story to their children and grandchildren in the years to come. Each session and storybook is filled with portraits of the children walking through the "forest" to find the perfect pond. Every child "catches" a fish and the book ends with the children heading home. And the children believe every moment is real!

The Tuscan Village

The Tuscan Village is a magical set and can be designed as a spring, summer or winter set. Your children bring the set to life and you enjoy heirloom portraits to remember their joy and innocence. Enchanted Forest

You children's faces will light up when they enter the enchanted forest. They can dip their toe in the water, look into the crystal ball, and visit the forest animals.

Ancient Castle

When your children come for a session in the magical castle, they choose their favourite princess dress, complete with head piece. For the boys there are knights and kings with swords. We capture gorgeous portraits as they look out the castle window or walk down the staircase. These heirloom portraits will be treasured for years and your children will tell their children or grandchildren "That is what I looked like when I was your age"

Pillaging Pirates

Your children will search for lost treasure and be prepared to defend it once found. With bow and arrows & swords. If you've had difficulty getting portraits of the boys, this Limited Edition Session will be the answer!

Night Before Christmas

All The Art of Portraiture to create an heirloom storybook starring your child(ren) visiting Santa for milk and cookies on The Night Before Christmas. We also provide fine art portraits and gorgeous Christmas cards that will be treasured for generations.

Winter Wonderland

Have timeless portraits created in the snow, without the cold. Your Winter Wonderland Session is in the studio where children of all ages enjoy a good old fashioned snowball fight, making snow angels, taking the perfect Christmas tree home, pulling a sleigh full of presents or snowmen, sending their letters off to Santa or dressing like a snow princess all while Shelley creates timeless portraits that your family will treasure for years to come.

The Enchanted Forest Children's Storybook Fairy Portraits

Once a year, Shelley sets up The Enchanted Forest in her home-based premiere studio. Your child(ren)'s face(s) light up as they enter the set filled with animals, birds, flowers, butterflies & a beautiful pond. Fairy dresses, wings, & flower wreaths are available for 18 months and older in a variety of colours. The crystal ball, the magic wand and firefly lantern all add to the wonder.

Remember those precious years when your girl(s) are as magical as their imaginations. Your visitors will be amazed when they realize the art on your wall is of your child(ren).

Yes, the boys enjoy dress up just as much as the girls for these fishing portraits! In the Huckleberry Finn style with rolled-up overalls and a stick with a string your children will go fishing with their basket and net. This is like walking onto a movie set filled with plants, animals, birds, frogs, and turtles. 

Wall Art portraits and heirloom storybooks will bring back the memories of your precious little ones as they grow and become adults with families of their own. Imagine them reading their storybook to their children and saying "That was me, when I was about your age".

The Night Before Christmas Session

Annika had a magical time with Santa! An hour-long session where she ate milk and cookies with Santa, painted toys, read the bible, found Santa’s home on the globe, had magic sprinkled into her hands and so much more. I was worried she would be afraid but Santa was so gentle and kind that she laughed, smiled, and engaged with him the entire session! It was a special memory that I will cherish always ❤️. Enchanted Forest

We had an amazing experience at the Enchanted Forest. From the beginning when Shelley opened the door dressed as a fairy. She was so good at explaining to the kids what they should do in a playful way and the assistant helped to keep the kids happy! We were so happy when we left. 

We just saw the presentation of all the pictures, and I was in tears because they are all so beautiful and magical. Shelley is doing a great job. It is so obvious that it really is a passion from the heart, not just a job.

Winter Wonderland

Who would have thought, another amazing session & another tough decision to make. The winter wonderland was so much fun & the photos turned out amazing! I came in for one image & will likely be leaving with a collection. I just love bringing Jax in for the Storybook Sessions and being awed by how the images turn out. I can't wait to see them after touch-ups and editing to send to our family in the Christmas Cards. I enjoy these sessions & everyone who gets photos with Shelley loves their end results. I am so happy we did this session while Jax is still young and small.
